I have a DELL OPTIPLEX 745 desktop.I want to know that what be the better way for keep my desktop in good conditon alwaysIs there anyone who can give me right advise aout computer';s?

1- use a genuine copy of operating software and make sure it has its automatic updates turned on , so as to have the latest updates.


2- use a good antivirus .


depending on your preference , for paid , go for eset NOD32 or kaspersky.

n if not interested in spendin , then go for avira or avast free editions .


3- use a good antispyware to supplement your security .


lavasoft ad aware is the best along with superantispyware.


malwarebytes is also a good software.


or go for spybot s and d .this one is free.


4- a good firewall , very essential .


windows firewall is good but comodo firewall is the best .


advantage for comodo is , it also has HIPS.


5- use a good activity n registry cleaner .


go for advanced system care or ccleaner.


very essential to erase your activity history and keep the registry clean and in perfect shape.


6- use a good defragmenter .


go for smart defrag . essential for keeping the hard disk in good condition so that it is always performing at its peak .


7- download from p2p programs with care especially when downloading any programs or software.they are mostly containing some malware.


8- use firefox as web browser .


much secure and faster than explorer.


9- if you are a little experienced user , try sandboxie.


it is an mazing software, keeping the unauthorised and dangerous programs from runnin in your pc.

10- always keep a back up of your data and esp the operating software .u know never when u might need it !!

Always clean all the unwanted files form your desktop.





Regularly clean and defragment your disk.





Do not install unwanted software for testing purpose, instead try it in Virtual Machine.





Have a good AV and do not browse any unwanted sites. In case you want to, browse them in Virtual Machine.
m5 pretty spot on. use internet security package with firewall, antivirus etc all in one. don't allow anyone to download a bunch of crap over the years.
