What is some advise you can provide to help other students avoid plagiarism?

To avoid plagiarisms you need to make sure to give credit where credit is do. Reference all work that has been used. When taking notes write down the sources. Also a big reason for people to plagiarize is waiting for the last minute. Since you are in rush you are more like to copy paste, which is plagiarizing and a big no no. Hope I helped. :)What is some advise you can provide to help other students avoid plagiarism?

(Irony)What is some advise you can provide to help other students avoid plagiarism?
Students who want to cheat will cheat.

Other folks find themselves in tough circumstances and opt for the easy way out - these are those can't manage their time or do their own legwork. At college level that is essential learning, but beyond the scope of professors and coursework. Some sink, some swim.

Of course you have to have standards and hold students accountable. The best profs I had made it a point to stand at the front of the class and loudly proclaim the school's ethical standards, as well as their personal policy (which was usually harsher). No one can claim ignorance then.

I like mentoring or a buddy system where senior students ';adopt'; junior students to guide them in the essential skills. Then cheating becomes harder to rationalize.
Put everything in your own words or document things with footnotes.
if you are a teacher, first you give them a pretty easy writing assignment and tell them it's a ';warmup'; and then you keep that and compare it to all their other papers, if their vocabulary and sentence structure are more or less advanced, then you know they are plagiarizing, writing is like a fingerprint, and you can use it to detect the theft of another's work.
