Okay... the first thing to start with is FABRIC!

Find the bohemian-type fabric you want to use as your drapery or bedding. You will then take the cues from the colours in that to paint your walls. Painting the walls first and then trying to find a fabric to match is nigh impossible. Find the fabric first.

Here's a pretty cool example of something I think you might like. Forget what it is, and the price, what you're looking at is just the style and colour:

Here's another cool site with a bed throw I think you'd like very much:

I thought they were really cool too! Once you get your fabric, and decide on wall colour, it will all start coming together. Every time you go shopping, stuff will just pop out of nowhere that will go perfectly in your new room!

Thanks so much for the Best Answer vote; I appreciate it everso, *s*

The style you're talking about is usually a lot about pattern. Mix the colors you love in fabric, wallcovering, area rug, art prints. One way to make the room look bigger is to use an open patterned wallpaper either allover or on the top 2/3rds of the wall. Paint a darker color below or use a multicolored stripe. If you can only do paint, make the upper part lighter than the bottom. Never divide the wall in half, make the bottom (darker color) about 1/3 and the top (light color) 2/3. This will make the room feel larger as it is anchored with the heavier color on the bottom. Put a fun border between the two colors. Also, paint the ceiling at least a shade darker than the top of the wall (make it a grayed down version of your wall color. This will also make the room feel bigger and add to the bohemian richness. If you can find some inexpensive sheer fabrics in your colors, consider ';tenting'; the ceiling by gathering lengths together in the center and draping it to the wall. Also, lots of pillows in different colors and fabrics. Have fun. It sounds like a great room to spend time in.
The best way to make it look bigger is to do a light color, I guess and electric blue would be the lightest, and then have cool posters/art on the walls. Then what you do is have your light source, whatever it is, directed towards the decorations on the walls rather than down. That will make the room look bigger.
Mirrors are great. Also focus on the height of your room. Dark colors blending to lighter colors as you go up the wall. Hang the curtain rod above the top line of your window-- makes your room more expansive. Have fun!
U can place a big mirror on one wall of ur room...ths will add space to ur room...the mirror can be of life size....
