I am an indian army officer and i have never been to US so it is just like a dream to me now at present when rates has gone down is it possible for me buy a house in USA and what all formalities will be required?I am an indian never been to USA want to buy a house in USA kindly advise and guide?
If your finances are in order you are free to buy a home here.. Its tough getting work here so finding a job will be important. I would arrange a visit and try to find work before you buy anything.. Perhaps renting at first would be better---because you wont know right away where you want to settle. Do your research a bit on areas that interest you.. Certain parts of our Country are harder hit by the recession then others---so although you may find an afffordable house--their may be no work. E-mail me if you would like to chat more.I am an indian never been to USA want to buy a house in USA kindly advise and guide?
You need to realize that while it is legal to buy whatever you want, it will not effect your visa status. Owning property will not obtain you the right to live in it, or even visit it.

As you are not a legal resident you will need to pay cash for the property and there are extra taxes applied when you sell, but that is the only difference.
Anyone can buy a house in the USA. The problem will be trying to finance it. If you can pay cash, then there's no problem at all. If you want to finance it from American sources, then you will have to prove that your income can support the payments.
