In any group setting they want to see that you can find balance between putting yourself forward (not too shy to make your point) and letting others have their say (don't hog the show or talk incessantly). Show interest when others have the floor and try to keep their interest when you have.Hi there has anyone got any advise about group interviews as i have a uni interview?
Because group interviews can catch you off guard, you should keep the following in mind.

1.Be prepared for confusion and noise. Don鈥檛 let them make you rush your answer or feel pressured.

2.If possible, learn who the panelists are ahead of time. Find out their names, who is in charge, and who has the most clout.

3.If possible, determine why a group interview is being used. Is merely convenience, to create stress, or to save the interviewer time and money? This information may indicate how to focus your answers.

4.Appear confident and in control. Keep a relaxed posture, including open body with chin down, direct eye contact, neat, appropriate dress, and natural gestures to convey a positive attitude.

5.Make your answers direct, brief, honest, and sincere.
In a group interview make sure you have eye contact with each person and acknowledge their presence. If one person asks a question, make sure you answer them but don't ignore the others.

I have done several interviews with my Managers and the people who didn't look at or acknowledge all of us, wasn't on the short list as this was considered rude.

You will find that they are managers or in charge of different departments and will therefore ask you questions in relation to their ';area';. When this happens, just make sure you answer their question truthfully and if necessary, also mention other departments whilst looking at the person in charge of that department.

As for what you wear, I would wear something smart and comfortable.

Good luck.
Make sure you have some questions for them. They'll give you a chance to ask questions at the end and it shows you're bright and interested if you have one or two to put to them.

Assume the interview is to go to uni as a student, not professor lol. Just wear something comfortable. Smart casual will be fine, they are expecting to see a student, just don't wear anything too OTT in either direction.

Try to be relaxed and smile. They just want to know that as well as being prepared to work hard at your studies you can work on your own initiative and have the maturity and confidence to mix well with everyone, tutors and fellow students alike. They'll be nice to you so don't worry.
Wear something smart- casual. More smart than anything. In the group interview they will probably give you a topic to discuss. Just speak up. I am the most shy person you will ever meet but I had to make a point of speaking up. They are mostly looking at your personality at this point more than your knowledge.

Good Luck- Im sure you will be fine!!!!
